Agric. & Environment: Global waste could hit 4 billion tonnes by 2050

Despite representing just 16% of the global population, high-income countries are responsible for nearly a third of the world’s waste. Wealthier societies consume more and discard more — but they also have the infrastructure to manage it, from regular waste collection to developed recycling systems.
