Slight Decline In Scotland’s Recycling As Waste Generated Increases

Scotland generated 5.5 more waste in 2017 when compared to 2016, according to new figures. Of this waste, 142,195 more tonnes of waste was recycled, yet the increase in waste generated means the country’s recycling rate has decreased 0.2 percentage points from 2016 to 58.9. Strong support for Single-Use Plastics Directive

The European Parliament has strongly endorsed the Single-Use Plastics Directive in its plenary meeting on Wednesday. The last outstanding step for the Directive‘s final adoption is now its approval by the Council of Ministers.
