Domestically Prohibited Goods, Trade in Toxic Waste and Technology Transfer: Issues and Developments

This discussion paper highlights the threat to the environment and health of people in many developing countries posed by growth in uncontrolled transboundary movements of domestically prohibited goods, hazardous waste and dirty technologies. It raised concerns about the rich industrialised countries exporting such substances and technologies to the poor, developing countries that are not capable of disposing of or recyclinig these substances safety and protecting their people from health and environment hazards
