Expert witness – energy from waste plant

The task

S Grundon Ltd operates a clinical waste incinerator and municipal waste recycling facility at its Colnbrook facility near Heathrow. The company wished to redevelop this into an integrated waste management facility including an energy from waste (EfW) plant treating 440,000 tonnes/year of municipal waste.

How we helped

As part of the project team, AEA Energy & Environment* provided technical consultancy services including airquality

assessments and representation at public meetings. We assisted in successful applications for planning and for Environment Agency IPC approval. S Grundon Ltd now plans to update the IPC application to reflect the updated requirements of Integrated Pollution Prevention and Control (IPPC).
