The present guidelines for an appropriate management of domestic sanitary landfill
sites represent an attempt to close that existing gap. Nevertheless it must be understood
that these guidelines cannot be complete. They are intended as a set of minimum technology recommendations to serve as a basis for joint discussions among decision makers, consultancies, the public or environmental organizations.
