Water management is a unique issue in the Gulf region and presents many different challenges which require urgent solutions. For example, Abu Dhabi`s Water Management Action Plan and ISO 14001 Environmental Management System (EMS) standards have motivated the majority of NOCs and industrial manufacturers to evaluate options for treatment, utilisation and safe disposal of produced water and treatment of water required for cooling tower processes.
