STAFF DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMME on Collection and Compilation of Data on Municipal Solid Waste

Dramatic population growth and urbanization during the last decades together with serious economic decline has made it impossible for the municipal authorities to fulfill its obligations concerning solid waste management. Today only a fraction of solid waste generated is collected and deposited. There are no designated site for the disposal of waste by competent agency. Hence the seminar of this kind will be useful in assessing the quantity of solid waste generated from the municipality and the fitness for the safe, treatment and disposal
