The link between waste management, climate change and bioeconomy

During the last week of April, we have spent a couple of days in Bogota, Colombia, attending two seminars in the field of bioeconomy. The first one was the ‘National Colombian forum on bioeconomy. Sustainable territorial innovation’, while the second one was the last meeting of the ALCUE NET project, a 5-year project funded by the European Union’s Seventh Framework Programme. The objective of the ALCUE NET project is to establish
a bi-regional European Union, Latin America and the
Caribbean (EU-CELAC) common platform bringing together actors involved in research and innovation, funding and implementation, as well as other relevant stakeholders from the academic, public and private sector in the following four main topics: Energy, information and communication technology, bioeconomy and biodiversity and climate change.
