Turning waste into wealth

Bangladesh’s streets, farms and factories offer abundant biomass resources that could fuel a circular bioeconomy, creating jobs and cleaner energy while addressing climate challenges. Rice straw, jute waste, manure and food discards could transform into valuable compost, biogas and bio-fertilizers instead of ending up in landfills, with recent studies confirming significant biogas potential from these organic streams.
