UK – WEEE producer responsibility compliance service goes live

DHL is one of the first UK businesses to gain Environment Agency (EA) approval for its WEEE (Waste Electronic and Electrical Equipment) compliance scheme. Having met the EA‘‘s comprehensive range of criteria to gain approval – including meeting strict standards for reporting systems, quality assurance, logistics infrastructure and financial stability – DHL is now able to offer brand owners and importers of waste electrical equipment membership of its compliance scheme.

Companies affected by the WEEE regulations have until March 15 to register with an approved scheme. Approved schemes are obliged to submit WEEE data to the EA on behalf of their clients, as well as providing logistics solutions to fulfill collection and recycling obligations under the new regulations that became law in the UK earlier this year.

DHL is holding a series of free WEEE seminars across the UK to help businesses understand their obligations under the new legislation
