WASTE

The definition of Waste in Italy is governed by Legislative Decree 22/97 that adopts European Directives 91/156 and 91/689. Waste is defined as any substance or object of which the holder disposes or has the intention to dispose or is obliged to dispose. Whether a substance qualifies as waste depends essentially on the comportment of the producer and thus depends on whether the producer wants, intends or is obliged to dispose of the substance.
