Zero Waste Management Summit 2014

Waste Management is one of the most serious challenges faced by all countries across Middle East. The high rate of population growth, urbanization, migration, industrial growth and economic expansion has led to tremendous increase in solid waste generation in the region. Interestingly, per capita solid waste generation in GCC countries is one of the highest worldwide. The gross urban waste generation from Middle East countries has risen to more than 150 million tons per annum which is posing serious environmental and public health hazards.
